Jack Welch Award Nomination Criteria

• Nominated applicants must have been between league ages 10 to 15 during the season for which they are nominated, and would need to have demonstrated a significant improvement over the course of that season.  Batting/pitching statistics can be submitted to verify this improvement, along with an explanation of their growth in other areas of their game.

• The applicant should also have consistently displayed good sportsmanship over the course of the season; and should have represented WILL in a manner that befits a Jack Welch award recipient.

• The Team Manager of each baseball and softball team may nominate one player per team who meets the above criteria.

This criteria was selected some years ago by the Welch & McIlvane families to reward perseverance by an individual over the course of a particular season, as opposed to improvement from one season to another, which could be attributed to other factors such as physical growth.  It is not intended to be a most valuable player award.  As in the past, an award will be given to a softball & baseball player. 

We will impartially consider all applicants who meet the above criteria.  If a submission does not meet the above criteria, the submission will be returned along with a request for modification so as to meet the above criteria.

The award winner will be determined Sunday, March 14^th; therefore, any submissions past the due date of March 13^th cannot be accepted for consideration.
